TYPHOON 100 NEWTON LIFEJACKET Perfect adjustment to the body, thanks to zip closure, adjustable waist belt and hem tightening drawstring.

Models for children up to 25 kg. are equipped with a grab handle as an extra safety feature.

100 Newton lifejackets appear to us as the minimal “reasonable” personal safety equipment, even though some countries authorize 50 Newton models for coastal sailing. It is only from the 100 Newton category onwards that a lifejacket is fitted with signalling equipment and that it has a righting ability (i.e. it is designed to turn most wearers face up, even unconscious). This is also the reason why children’s lifejackets (wearer 30 kg. max.) exist only as from the 100 Newton category. Coastal sailing, sheltered waters Fitted with a whistle, retro-reflective tapes for nighttime recognition, a collar which folds back and a quick-fit crotch strap to prevent riding up, (except Storm - no crotch strap and a single flotation block for chest / neck / head.) Self-righting capacity; these lifejackets are designed to help exhausted sailors turn safely on their backs; this is the reason for the asymmetrical buoyancy distribution on some models. Buoyancy is provided by closed cell polyethylene foam.
